Galena trails are open until the snow flies.
Galena Lodge is closed for the summer season.
October 1, Forest Service Reoports:
A sheep band will start grazing up Galena Summit from the Sawtooth Valley around October 9th. They will trail up and over back into the Wood River Valley on the 10th and 11th. They will overnight in the Lake Creek area (possible to change due to fire closure) before trailing through Ketchum for the trailing of the sheep festival. From there they will trail out using the sheep driveway/bike path.
