Temperatures look like they will start shifting this weekend and we will move into move into some cooler fall days. When you head out, be sure to prepare for quickly shifting weather and darker mornings and evenings. Extra layers and a headlamp are a great addition to your gear this time of year.

Trailing of the Sheep is happening. This means our valley will be busy, and sheep will be on the Wood River Trail as they are moving between grazing allotments and events. Sunday and Monday sheep will be moving from Ketchum to Hailey via the WRT. Though we know sheep will be in the area, we do not know their exact timing and location. Please keep an eye out and enjoy the festivities!

Forest Service reports:

Warm Springs Band This band is near the top of Warfield/Red Warrior. They will trail down Lodgepole Gulch and into Cow Creek. From there they will trail into Panther Gulch on 10/14. (Trails 151, 152, 153, 180, 310)

Corral Creek Band This band is about .5 miles up Corral Creek Road. They will trail up behind the Sun Valley Gun Range and will be in Lake Creek on Saturday 10/10. They will trail through Ketchum on 10/11 and onto BLM/Private lands. 

NOTES & REMINDERS:

Galena Lodge is closed for the summer season and will reopen for the winter season early December.

SNRA Head Quarters is closed for the summer season.

Stage 1 Fire restrictions have been lifted: Lifting the restrictions means the public is free to build campfires, use a charcoal barbecue, or smoke outside of designated campgrounds and recreation sites. 
However, fire managers would like to remind the public that wildfires can be prevented year-round by following a few simple tips:

• Never leave a campfire unattended.
• Always keep water, dirt, and a shovel near a fire.
• Make sure your fire is dead out and cold to the touch before leaving it.
• Never use fireworks, exploding targets, or tracer rounds on or near public land.

Quigley: The first ¼ mile of Quigley Road is closed July 8 - October 31. If you are recreating out Quigley Canyon, follow the detour signs.

Quigley Hill Trailhead/parking and trail access from trailhead is open.
